| Title: | One-Day Community-based Volunteer Program |
| When: | 18.09.2010 |
| Description: | This event is an all day education/outreach lecture and excursion to CRF's nursery. The day will kick off between 8:30-9 a.m with a lecture on coastal conservation and reef restoration which then we will break for lunch. The afternoon will be a dive excursion to the nursery where we will engage all dive volunteers in some underwater volunteer work in our nursery. This morning/afternoon event is designed to get the local/national/international community involved and aware of the our efforts and the historical/current issues facing the local and regional reefs throughout the Florida Keys. We will provide hands on activities in the field and allow participants to see the progress and provide ways to help as well.
Please note this event is open to certified SCUBA divers of all levels. In addition, to limit accidental damage on the marine environments and in our nursery CRF has established a capacity limit on the number of volunteers for each program. That number is set at 20 people max.
The event will be managed by Florida Keys Dive Center: www.floridakeysdivectr.com/
