Group Dive Programs

Group Dive Programs in Key Largo

We offer One or Two-Day group dive programs for groups of 8-20 divers. These programs offer divers of all ages and skill levels to get involved and take an active role in coral restoration.

Both programs cover nursery and restoration techniques. We blend classroom instruction and field diving to provide a hands-on learning experience.

Quick Overview

Our One-Day Program offers classroom time in the morning, and a two-tank dive in the afternoon. Our Two-Day Program is structured similarly and allows time for a more immersive experience.

Program attendees participate in a presentation outlining our mission, history, and objectives at the Coral Restoration Education Center in Key Largo. The discussion includes an introduction to coral anatomy and conditions necessary for a healthy reef, as well as stressors causing current coral decline. Participants also learn about our solution to coral decline. The morning session ends with a hands-on demonstration of restoration techniques.

On the first dive, using the techniques illustrated in the morning presentation, divers will explore the nursery and prepare corals to be transported to a restoration site.

The second dive takes place at the restoration site, where the divers outplant the corals they previously prepared.

Typically, dives are approximately 45 minutes each.
