Emma Thomson

Volunteer Coordinator

Emma was raised in Connecticut as a swimmer and all-around water lover. Her passion for coral conservation was discovered the first time she went SCUBA diving and fell in love with the gorgeous coral reefs. After that first dive her path was set towards preserving this unique ecosystem so that everyone could have the same awe-filled experience as her. Armed with an Environmental Science degree from the University of Richmond and a deep hatred of cold weather, she moved to South Florida to pursue this budding passion.

Over the next several years Emma worked in many different realms of marine science including caring for sea turtles with Loggerhead Marinelife Center, scientific field work with the National Audubon Society, and experiential environmental education with MarineLab Environmental Education Center. She is thrilled to use her wide range of experiences to bring interns and volunteers to CRF™ to preserve and restore an ecosystem she holds so dear.
