Reef Restoration Program Manager
Phanor comes to CRF™ with extensive leadership experience in the field of coral reef restoration and ecology. He spent the last 6 years serving as the director and founder of Corales de Paz, an organization that applies community participatory approaches to coral reef monitoring and restoration. His work has played an important role in developing innovative professional training and building networks between international NGOs, universities, research institutions, and local community members.
He pioneered Colombia´s first citizen science coral reef monitoring and restoration programs that include the digitalization of Colombia´s coral reef monitoring surveys by applying benthic photomosaic imagery techniques and developing new tools to improve image capture. As an engaged member of the reef restoration scientific community Phanor is also a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner by the Society for Ecological Restoration and a founding member of the Coral Restoration Consortium.
