As #CoralBleachingAwarenessMonth comes to an end, we’re continuing to raise awareness about one of the biggest challenges facing coral reefs today. 🪸🌡️
Bleaching happens when stressed corals expel the algae living in their tissues, losing much of their color and a major source of energy. Corals can recover if conditions improve, but repeated or prolonged stress makes recovery harder.
As bleaching events become more frequent, the urgency to protect and restore reefs grows with them.

What happens after corals are returned to the reef? We keep watching. 🪸🔍
Our restoration team uses monitoring techniques such as underwater photogrammetry to create detailed 2D models of restoration sites.
These photomosaics are primarily constructed through CeruleanAI, and allow us to track changes over time and evaluate the progress of restoration efforts.
