Melissa Cobo

Temporary Reef Restoration Associate

Melissa’s love for the environment and aquatic systems started while doing volunteer work in Thailand where she learned about coral bleaching and began her diving journey which she continued to grow in qualifications in places like Colombia, Mexico and Australia. With a hunger for deeper knowledge in aquatic ecosystems, Melissa began researching Great Lakes in Utah as part of her Masters’ degree while doing internships with USGS and working for the Department of Natural Resources assisting with Invasive species control. Loving aquatic work, Melissa wanted to keep helping different areas of our beautiful watershed ecosystems, so she decided to move to the Florida Keys and join CRFs amazing efforts.

Melissa is thrilled to be a part of the Coral Restoration Foundation, her experience, diverse background, dedication and positive attitude will help restore Florida’s coral reefs.
