Alice Grainger was basically raised underwater. Growing up on the reefs of the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia sparked an enduring fascination with biodiversity, wild places, and the complicated business of protecting them.
As Senior Director of Strategic Engagement and a member of CRF’s leadership team, Alice works across strategy, science, and communications, turning complex ideas into messages that inform, inspire, and galvanize.
She has an MA in International Relations from the University of St Andrews, where she designed an alternative model for global governance, and a career spanning conservation, systems thinking, and storytelling. She now lives high in the Andes — a little too far from the ocean — with her husband, Carlos, and their enormous dog, Leo.
