Senior Director of Strategic Engagement
Alice’s passion for coral reefs was imprinted upon her at an early age, growing up in Saudi Arabia, snorkeling in the Red Sea before she could walk. A diving instructor with an MA in International Relations from St Andrews University, Alice arrived at Coral Restoration Foundation™ via Singapore and Bali, where she spent four years as Senior Editor of two of the world’s leading dive magazines, Scuba Diver Australasia and Asian Diver.
Her previous professional incarnations include program management roles with USAID’s Educational Reform Program in Egypt and the ZERI biomimicry program based in Gland, Switzerland; as a scriptwriter and narrator with Image House (an Egyptian natural history film production company); and as Dive Officer for ReefDoctor, a marine-conservation NGO based in Madagascar. Alice also has experience founding her own social enterprise in the form of NGOpolis – the world’s first online, grass-roots, networking and collaboration platform for the conservation and sustainable development sectors.
