Volunteer & Intern Coordinator
Growing up in Florida’s springs sparked Jessica’s lifelong love for the natural world. She earned her master’s degree in Outdoor Environmental and Sustainability Education at the University of Edinburgh, where experiences camping in the Highlands, paddling down rivers, and foraging for wild berries shaped how she approaches environmental education. Additional international educational experiences in China and Ecuador further expanded her perspective on sustainability, community, and place-based learning. Her background in environmental science, sustainability, and education has taken her from Florida ecosystems to outdoor learning communities abroad, with a focus on creating meaningful, hands-on educational experiences that connect people to the environment and their local community.
Before joining Coral Restoration Foundation as Volunteer & Intern Coordinator, Jessica worked in higher education supporting student development, mentorship, and experiential learning programs. Her research focuses on the use of crafting within environmental education curriculum as a way to help learners build deeper connections to place, community, and self. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, gardening, crocheting, baking bread, and spending time outdoors.
