Born and raised in South Florida (practically underwater), Allison draws on her life-long love for the ocean as she uses digital media to inspire a healthier relationship between humans and our blue planet. Since earning her degree in Marine Biology from Florida Institute of Technology, Allison (also known as Ocean Allison) has logged hundreds of dives around the world, and has more than a decade of experience working in ocean science and conservation communications.
As a science communicator, Allison has worked with top research institutions like Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Woods Hole Oceanographic, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration – documenting research expeditions from Antarctica to the Gulf of Mexico. As a writer and social media specialist, she has worked closely with respected companies and organizations like PADI and Mission Blue (and even CRF a few times prior to joining the team). As a podcaster and writer, Allison has interviewed an incredible variety of ocean experts from Sylvia Earle to Paul Nicklen and is connected to an extensive network of ocean change-makers. After living and cruising on a sailboat for several years, Allison is settled in San Diego, CA with her husband and three year old ocean-loving daughter.
