Annalee Herrera is a Hawaiʻi-based conservation technologist whose passion for the ocean was inspired by her family’s roots in Luzon and the Visayan islands of the Philippines. After earning her B.S. in Biology from the University of Washington, she began her career in marine and ecological conservation in Hawaiʻi before transitioning into the tech sector, where she spent the next decade as a software engineer working in artificial intelligence and enterprise IT at companies including GitHub and Hawaiian Airlines.
Driven to bring these two worlds together, Annalee now focuses on bridging software engineering with conservation nonprofit data strategy. As a trained rescue diver, she volunteers her time conducting ecological monitoring and data analysis for coral restoration organizations on Oʻahu, including Kuleana Coral Restoration and Ocean Alliance Project. She is thrilled to bring her technical expertise and deep dedication to marine conservation to Coral Restoration Foundation™, leveraging technology and data to help restore vibrant coral ecosystems for future generations.
