Katie’s journey into the marine world began during her undergraduate studies when she became dive certified in South Africa, sparking a deep passion for the ocean. Growing up near the Chesapeake Bay in Baltimore, Maryland, Katie developed a strong affinity for marine life. She pursued her academic interests by earning a B.S. degree in psychology and animal behavior. Katie’s professional experiences reflect her commitment to marine education and conservation, including roles at MarineLab in Key Largo, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and as a previous intern at the Coral Restoration Foundation. She has shared her expertise with the diving community through her work at a local dive shop in the Florida Keys.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys sailing on her boat and capturing the beauty of nature through photography. Currently, Katie holds the position of Education Field Associate, focusing on in-water education programs such as CRF’s recreational dive programs. Katie’s commitment to marine conservation and education, reflects her strong connection to the sea and her dedication to encouraging others to value and safeguard our oceans.
